Currys Today
Currys was bought by DSG International, which also owns the Dixons brand, in 1984 and maintained its separate brand identity. In April 2006, DSG announced that its Dixons stores would be rebranded as Currys.digital, making a total of 550 Currys stores in all.
Dixons was converted into an web only outlet, concentrating on the competitive online market (exept for Ireland and airport duty free outlets). Currys is the market leading electrical retailer in the United Kingdom.
